  We are in the thick of auditions, orchestrations, rewrites & everything else that goes on when
  producing a new musical. We are very excited about the way JACOB'S PILLOW is developing

  The cast will be announced this weekend. We have one more round of auditions on Saturday
  before making our final decision.

  We also have our final cabaret of 2007 this Saturday, the 15th, at GREGORY'S PIANO BAR

  Gilman's Glory, Everyone Else's Misery

  Rebecca Gilman is an American playwright we should be proud of.  Gilman writes plays about regular people faced with serous issues---and what's more, after receiving a good deal of attention (not to mention a few awards) she hasn't bailed on the theater yet.  Her most well known play, Spinning into Butter, has just been turned into a film starring Sarah Jessica Parker; but Gilman's latest works (a new play opening last week and a musical that opens next summer) are not for Hollywood, but for small theaters in Chicago...

  Classics in Context explores the Shakespeare Theatre Company's production of The Taming of the Shrew in depth, as a literary text, a performance script and in production. Through the discussion, learn about production histories, social and cultural contexts, and approaches while examining the relevancy of the production in its own time and ours.   Director Leigh Silverman drops by to chat about The Public Theater's newest production, "Yellow Face". In celebration of the festival of lights William Finn comes into talk about "Make Me a Song", a new revue of his songs, playing at New World Stages. We get to hear two songs of Mr. Finn's as well. Also the president of CAMI Ventures LCC, Mark S. Maluso, heads into the studio to talk about their new work, "Jump".
